ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2012-13
  • For the sixth successive year the physical and financial target exceeded the fixed targets for respective years.
  • Highest financial target achieved of all CPDO’s for the year 2012-13 i.eRs201.82lacs.
  • 700 farmers were trained and imparted poultry training at places like Tihar jail for jail inmates as reformation and women entrepreneurship development training at Govt. Home Science college Chandigarh first time in history of CPDO’s for women empowerment.
  • Organized successfully one day workshop on “Bio-safety and winter management challenges of poultry “on 24 Nov 2012 which was graced by fifty delegates from all over India.
  • CPDO (NR) Chandigarh is protected from Bird flu infection inspite of truck terminal in front of main entry gate and sharing border of reserve forests of (U.T) by adapting highest standard of Bio-security protocol.
  • Kadaknath heritage breed of India and M.P has been popularized all over India specifically south where it is popular among young educated entrepreneurs.
  • More private poultry farmers from Barwala/Haryana,Punjab and Himachal Pradesh are getting there feed and feed ingredients tested in CPDO(NR) laboratory unit.
ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2018-20
  1. For the very first time in the history of CPDO (NR) Chandigarh, a meeting was conducted between Northern States and CPDO (NR) for the “exchange of knowledge and also a visit to the farm by all the representatives of the states. It was also discussed how to improve the service to the farmers.
  2. A facebook page has been created in the name CPDO (NR) Chandigarh on 19th March, 2019 for the very first time. Also, a Youtube account has been created to showcase the organization services and activities.
  3. World Egg Day -2019 has been celebrated in a grand way by CPDO (NR) along with A.H & veterinary department, Punjab and NECC in NITTER. This started a tradition for celebration of world egg day in respective years also.
  4. A huge school children rally was organized on world egg day 2019 and the event was duly reported in both print and electronic media.
  5. The Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Shri Giri Raj Singh ji, Ministry of Fisheries, A.H & Dairying, Government of India visited our organization to start up a model on Backyard Poultry as well as Moringa cultivation along with vermi compost. A farmer’s meeting with the Hon’ble minister was also held which helped the farmers of the region.
  6. For the first time, CPDO (NR) started model backyard poultry along with moringa plantation & vermiculture.
  7. Many distinguished/dignitaries visited and encouraged the innovative works carried out by the employees & team of CPDO (NR) during 2018 to 2020, namely;
    1. Visit of Shri Atul Chaturvedi, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Shri Ravi Kapoor, Secretary, Ministry of Textile.
    2. Visit of Dr O. P. Chaudhary, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries, AH & Dairying & Secretary, Animal Welfare Board.
    3. Visit of Shri Tarun Shridhar, Former Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
    4. Visit of Shri Digvijay Singh, Private Secretary to Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Shri Giri Raj Singh ji, Ministry of Fisheries, A.H & Dairying, Government of India.
    5. Visit of Shri Prem Singh Raghuvanshi, Staff Officer, Office of Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries, A.H & Dairying, Government of India.
  8. With the successful consecutive years, CPDO (NR) has always been into highlights in the various exhibitions and fairs which were organized by different state’s AH and dairying departments at national levels such as namely;
    1. “Poultry Expo-2019” which was organized at Veterinary College Playground, Khanapara, Guwahati.
    2. “National Animal disease Control Programme (NADCP) for FMD” and Brucellosis” and Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan vishwavidayalya, Mathura, UP, which was inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister.

    7. Judging of Poultry breed Competition at XI-National Livestock Championship & Agri Expo 2020, at Batala, Punjab.
  9. During this period, farmer’s house has been renovated into new design and to give better stay environment to the visiting farmers from northern states on booking request basis.
  10. To give a greener look for the organization, tree plantation was done in the campus in collaboration with ‘Dainik Jagran’ group and an NGO “Organic Sharing”.
  11. For the first time, the chicks has been distributed to the marginal farmers under SCSP scheme in collaboration with IIFSR-ICAR, Meerut, UP to help them earn basic livelihood.
  12. During the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, CPDO (NR) has successfully organized webinar meeting with the northern states animal husbandry departments and focused on the issues of farmers in this covid pandemic on poultry sector.
  13. The world egg day 2020 was remarkably celebrated in collaboration with ORGANIC SHARING NGO and NECC by following all the norms and regulations of disaster management act such as covering face mask by the children and staff during the rally, social distancing and regular hand wash.
  14. During 2018-2020, our orgaisation conducted training programme in various places in addition to the training in CPDO (NR), Chandigarh for example Hamirpur, H.P (26.08.19 to 31.08.19), KVK, Ambala (02.09.19 to 07.09.19). Also various visit of students from
